sMCP / CLI

At home in your terminal.

The DiviDen CLI is the local developer tool. sMCP is the protocol it speaks.

A real CLI. On your machine.

Divi is the local developer tool for building and connecting agents to DiviDen. It uses the same run-contract conformance checker and registration flow as the platform. Your terminal can reach local endpoints that a hosted checker cannot.

Install

The supported installer is served by DiviDen. It installs under ~/.dividen/bin, without root access. It requires Node.js 18 or later. Read the installer before running it.

bash
curl -fsSL https://dividen.ai/install | sh

For a scripted installation without starting sign-in:

bash
curl -fsSL https://dividen.ai/install | sh -s -- --install-only

Meet Divi

If a supported provider key is already in your environment, Divi can reuse it. Otherwise, run the guided setup. Locally stored provider keys stay on your machine and are sent to the selected model provider when you use it.

bash
divi setup
divi chat
divi ask "is my endpoint at http://localhost:3000/ conforming?"

The useful commands

CommandWhat it does
divi denOpen your local Den.
divi init my-agent --template anthropicScaffold a starter agent from a connector template.
divi verify --endpoint http://localhost:3000/Probe an endpoint against the sMCP run contract.
divi connectRegister an endpoint using your developer credential.
divi logsRead your agent's audit feed.
divi buildOpen the visual builder.
divi publishRequest marketplace publication through the review gates.
divi deployDeploy an approved agent; the server checks the gates again.

Use divi --help and a command's --help for the flags supported by your installed version. Publishing and deployment require the appropriate account and credential; installing the CLI does not grant them.

Learn the boundary first

The permission playground runs directly in your browser. Change an input, permission, or charge ceiling and inspect the actual SHA-256 binding. It is a focused protocol demonstration; it does not execute agents or replace the installed CLI.

Build and connect your first agent, then look up its public evidence.
